BATA Rocks at Nashville,Tenessee

 

Bay Area Telugu Association (BATA) enthralled the 300+ Nashville telugu audience with Ullasam, a program filled with comedy, dances & audience interactive games.  BATA Team performed during the Tennessee Andhra Samithi (TAS) diwali event on Nov 13th, 2010. The event was compered by Vijaya Aasuri .

The comedy segment comprised of standup comedy by Kalyan Kattamuri, Songs from America Lo Telugodu audio album by Kalyan Kattamuri & Sai Kiran Kumar, comedy skits performed by Kalyan Kattamuri, Sai Kiran Kumar, Aditya Kota and Pavitra. All the segments left the audience in splits and were received with thunderous response.

The dances were categorized into various segments:Folk Segment (Janapada Taarajuvvalu) comprising of the songs Noonugu Meesalu, Oole Oolele, Gajuvaka Pilla, Raye Raye, Pattu Pattu

·        Modern Segment comprising of the songs Kili Manjaro, Antha Siddhanga, Taxi, Bommali

·        Semi Classical Segment (Nruthya Hela) comprising of the songs Ganesha, Shiva, Devi Stuti

·        Modern Segment comprising of the songs Kundanapu Bomma, Sydney Nagaram, Mukkala, Dole Dole, Bangaru Kodi Petta

·        Old Songs Segment  (Aanati Talukulu) comprising of the songs Aaku Chaatu, Chengavi Rangu, Aakasamlo, Velluvachhi Godaramma, Danchave, Balampatti, Abbanee Teeyani, Kannepittaro

The synchronous dances, vibrant costumes, energy levels of the dancers and the unique formations wowed the audience so much so that there were constant requests of repeat performances. The dances were choreographed by Vijaya Aasuri, Srilu Veligeti & Sai Kiran Kumar and were performed by Srilu Veligeti, Kalyan Kattamuri, Sai Kiran Kumar, Neeharika, Aditya Kota & Pavitra.

Along with the comedy & dances, Vijaya Aasuri engaged the audience with interactive games, video & audio trivia questions and awarded the audience with prizes as well.

Audience was spellbound with the 3 hour cultural extravaganza presented by the 7 member BATA team. Vijaya Aasuri introduced the BATA team and thanked TAS and the Nashville telugu audience for their lovely hospitality and support. Srilu Veligeti, President of BATA, explained how the show was put together and expressed happiness that it appealed to everyone. Kalyan Kattamuri thanked the TAS organization for their relentless efforts to make the event happen. Madhavi Mallipeddi, President of Tennesse Andhra Samithi, thanked BATA team for the terrific show and applauded the energetic performance considering the small group that performed.
