HELP MANOJ AND HIS FAMILY

 

Manoj Gudla (aka Venkata Gudla Reddy) is a 30 year old aspiring software analyst for an IT consulting company in India and is engaged with a reputed Healthcare firm in the Westlake Village, CA in the United States. Manoj hails from Hyderabad, India and currently lives in Thousand Oaks, California with his wife Bharathi Maram and one year old daughter Haasini Gudla. He came to the US three years ago through his company. He was hardworking and successful at work with a bright future ahead of him. His family was very active in the community and has helped several friends in all walks of life. Manoj had lots of dreams and was working hard towards fulfilling them. He was a caring husband and a doting father.

 

But on the afternoon of August 08, 2010, tragedy struck upon this sweet family. Manoj, while swimming in the pool in his apartment complex began to drown all of a sudden. His friends pulled him out and reached the emergency services immediately. Manoj was taken to the Los Robles Hospital in a critical condition. Medically he had slipped into deep coma.

 

It has been over 2 months since the incident. His family and friends are trying their best to get all the help possible to revive him. Several medic faculty members including experts from the fields of Neurology, Cardiology among others have been attending Manoj round the clock. But he continues to remain in coma.

 

It is very hard and sad to see this once happy and smiling Manoj in a vegetable state. The Doctors at the Los Robles Hospital have now advised his family to take him back to India as they don’t foresee a need for any other medical intervention in the current condition. We are praying to the Almighty and hoping for a Miracle to happen. With a heavy heart we are all starting to look at the process to transfer Manoj to a hospital in Hyderabad, India and relocate his family. The cost of the air ambulance, medical crew and process to take him India is enormous and is currently being discussed with different agencies that are specialized in such cases. Meanwhile, efforts are being made to raise funds to help this family as the Medical Insurance Company does not cover the cost of Air lifting Manoj to India. The cheapest quoted so far is USD 49,000. So, we have a target of fund raising about USD 40,000 (excluding the company’s contribution). We are planning to air lift him on or around 17th November 2010.
